XFX Radeon 4890

The ATI Radeon is based on the RV770 GPU, which is known as a workhorse. The RV770 GPU debuted last year in the 4850 and 4870 and has given Nvidia's gear quite a run for it's money. If you still have an older Direct X 9 card, then this is a fantastic upgrade, but if you already have a second generation card (Radeon 48xx or GeForce 2xx) then the price isn't quite worth the upgrade for you.

Just like the 4850 and 70, the 4890 is built with the 55nm process, along with some tweaks to allow a much higher clock speeds. This card comes from companies like XFX clocked over 1 GHz, and there's still room for them to go higher.

All in all, this is a great Direct X 10 card for around $250. If you currently have a GeForce 2XX or Radeon 48XX then I'd skip this, but if you have an older card then this would be a great upgrade.
